There were only 3 basketball practices before their first game, and it really didn't go well for her. She doesn't really understand the whole "team" thing, and doesn't enjoy running up and down the court. It might help if the coaching was a little more hands on, and there was more actual instruction happening, but it just wasn't enough for her. After discussing it, we decided to pull her from basketball.
She's still happily on the bowling team, and does just fine with that, and never has the anguished look on her face that she did with basketball. I really wanted her to get into b-ball, I wanted her to form connections with the other kids on the team because I (still) think it would be good for her. We might try again next year, but it's stupid to try to shove her into things that make her that unhappy, for no really good reason.
